Last updated:

Picking the right agent in Valorant for the right situation has always rewarded players, while the wrong pick could mean losing the game. Season 2026 Act 2 brought about changes that shook up the previous meta, so here's a tier list that will help you decide who to use and instalock from every Valorant agent in the current meta.

April 2026 Meta Snapshot

Patch 12.05 brought notable nerfs to both Clove and Yoru among the characters in the game, and the arrival of new agent Miks, who brings smokes, healing, combat stim, and a CC ultimate. These agent changes in the rankings resulted in quite a shakeup to the current Valorant meta.

How Valorant Agents are Ranked

Win rate and pick rate data for all 28 agents are cross-referenced with pro play trends from VCT 2026 tournaments. We also weighed versatility, synergy with common team comps, and performance across various maps to formulate the rankings.

S-Tier Agents: The Best Valorant Agents Right Now

Clove (Controller) remains the best agent in the game even after this round of nerfs to Ruse, with 54.8% win rate and the highest pick rate in ranked at 15.3%. Their self-revive and hybrid duelist playstyle still delivers.

Jett (Duelist) is still the best duelist in Valorant among all duelist agents and still excels in any map with long sightlines. There's still no answer for her as long as you fulfill her high skill ceiling requirement.

Sova (Initiator) rose to S-tier with Recon dart lineups that provide unmatched map control, and Owl Drone scouts that became safer with Yoru's downgraded lurk threat.

A-Tier Agents: Strong Picks for Ranked Play

Agents in this category don't shake up the meta like S-tiers do, but they're among the best Valorant agents for beginners and experienced players alike in most situations, and having one at the right time could mean securing the win for your team. Each one is a solid team composition pick. But if you'd rather compete with your choice of agent right away, consider a ranked-ready Valorant account.

Gekko (Initiator) is one of the best beginner-friendly agents with a highly recyclable utility kit. Neon (Duelist) has Sprint and Slide that let her take aggressive angles, leading to a 54.1% win rate, while Cypher (Sentinel) is one of the best agents in Valorant for locking down flanks, and posting a 55.3% win rate.

B-Tier: Highly Situational Picks

These B-tier agents remain viable but require certain conditions or situations to work, from a specific map to team comps, making them shaky blind picks.

Both Veto and Vyse still hover around 50% win rate as B-tier picks, while Viper retains control of post-plant on Breeze and Icebox. Deadlock, Breach, Astra, KAY/O, and Omen all still perform but are highly dependent on very specific conditions, leading to their low pick rates.

Reyna (Duelist) is a notable inclusion here, dropping to B-tier after 12.02 nerfs. She still kills in lower ranks, but Diamond and above is a whole other story with her lack of team utility.

C-Tier: Too Niche for Ranked

Yoru crashed hard in this patch, going from near S-tier and falling all the way to join other C-tier agents. After losing a Blindside charge and having Gatecrash limited to 15 seconds, his lurk game was utterly gutted to mediocrity. C-tier agents are mostly in the same boat, with kits too weak or clunky to matter.

Tejo and Waylay both have win rates of below 50%, with the former feeling out of it in fast rounds, and the latter's debuffs being too weak to make a difference. Skye is another inclusion here with a dated kit that even rechargeable flashes can't make up for.

D-Tier: The Bottom of the Roster

Harbor (Controller) is the lone agent in this tier, making him one of the weakest D-tier agents and mostly unusable in his current state. Though he received buffs this time around, he is still the weakest controller with water walls that are outclassed by every other controller's smoke. He will need a massive rework to become viable in the future.

Find the Best Agents and Start Climbing

Knowing the best Valorant agents from the full list of Valorant agents for beginners and experienced players alike is just one part of the game, and your ability to execute in matches is a much bigger concern. Make sure to know how to play two or three of the best agents for ranked across different roles to remain competitive in more situations.

The current Valorant meta agents reward flexibility and contributions beyond frags matter, which this tier list helps you understand for better agent selection. But with Season 2026 Act 2 just getting started, expect the meta to shift as Miks settles into the game.
